So you’ve booked an appointment with Carpet Cleaning Kings and you know what date we’re arriving. The thing is, there’s probably a few things you want to know such as whether you need to move all the furniture out of the way and when the room can be put back into order and the carpet walked on.
Well there are a few things you can do to prepare for your home carpet cleaning date. So let’s take a look:
Moving the furniture
One of the things you can do is to move as much of the furniture out of the room as possible. We don’t actually factor in the time for our cleaners to remove furniture, although if you’re unable to move things yourself, then provided the request is quite reasonable, our cleaners are happy to move a few things to give you a hand. Usually the cleaner arrives on his own and he will have to refuse to move anything large or weighty which could cause him injury. In the event that you have a lot of furniture to move, then we can organise pre-arranged furniture removal at an extra cost.
Remove all valuables
We’d recommend that you pack away any fragile objects which are of value or could get easily damaged or broken during the cleaning process. Place them into a box and store them out of harm’s way. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Pick up small items
Whilst on the subject of packing away fragile objects, it also helps if you can pick up smaller items such as kids toys, pet toys and shoes which are often left laying around. In addition if you could make sure that all bedding and curtains are tucked away from the carpet, this will will make the home carpet cleaning job much easier for the cleaner.
Hoovering your carpet
Once you’re satisfied that you’ve cleared away all that you can, then be sure to vacuum your carpet to remove any loose dust. Typically our cleaners will do this as well, but it helps to get rid of as much dirt or debris that you can so the cleaner can get straight down to work.
Point out areas of concern
If you’ve got any areas of particular concern then please point these out to the cleaner. This can include areas of high traffic or where there’s a particularly stubborn stain. Pointing out these areas will ensure that our cleaners can pay special attention to them and carry out any pre-treatments necessary before the full clean.
Parking space
In the event that we use our truck mounted cleaning equipment, then it would helpful if a parking space could be freed up near your door so that our cleaner can park and run his hoses.
Depending on the type of carpet it can take anywhere between 2 and 8 hours to dry. We’d suggest turning on any ceiling fans and opening the windows to speed up the process. It’s a good idea to have a few towels laid out before letting your dog or kids back into the room. These can be used for cleaning their feet so that your carpet doesn’t get dirty before it’s completely dry.
Follow these tips and they’ll not only save you time and money but ensure you get the best possible home carpet cleaning experience.
